Internal Spring Cleaning Workshop

During this workshop we’ll use body based practices to revive us from the winter season, allowing ourselves to open up to the possibilities of spring. We will work with the meridians, which are our bodies energetic pathways, and practice self acupressure to help target movement with in these pathways. Targeting the meridians can help release tension within the body, clear stagnation and promote emotional balance. Together we’ll explore meridian based yoga, learn a self guided abdominal massage, and how to use gua sha to stimulate key acupressure points.

This modern approach to health has been around for thousands of years.  People are drawn to Ayurveda’s intuitive approach supporting the body’s natural ability to detoxify, heal and rejuvenate.  Whether you are looking to improve your health, reset your diet and daily routine, or optimize your well-being, Ayurveda works at the root level bringing the mind, body and consciousness into balance.  When in balance you can enjoy better physical and mental health while aging gracefully.

As you learn about yourself and your environment from an Ayurvedic perspective, you are able to tap into your intuition on how different foods, habits, activities and the external environment play a significant role in your state of health and well-being.  Ultimately with a restored sense of calm to the mind and nervous system, one returns to a natural state of clarity and groundedness with the energy, vitality and enthusiasm for life.

We will have 3 in person meetings (Saturday, June 10th, June 17th and June 24th, 12 - 1:30pm) before, during and after the reset.  During these meetings, you will learn what to expect each coming week and have an opportunity to have your questions answered.  The best part is you will meet others in the community embarking on the same journey.  There will be a special participant-only private Facebook group to communicate with each other and receive support and guidance along the way.  You will receive helpful tips for cleansing, a shopping list, recipes, yoga and breath routines and journal suggestions to deepen the transformational process.  And of course, you will learn the wisdom of Ayurveda on an intuitive level that will last a lifetime.

About the Presenter
This is being led by Denise Alejandro, Health Coach certified in Ayurvedic lifestyle and bodywork treatments.  She is also a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor, a style of yoga designed to activate your kundalini energy.  Her love of quantum science is reflected in her attraction to Ayurveda and Kundalini Yoga.  She works with clients 1-on-1 and teaches Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Kundalini yoga classes, workshops and retreats.  Denise guides clients on their own personal discovery journey, daily routines, dietary resets, cleanses, and customized body treatments based on Panchakarama.  Panchakarma is a process of disease reversal that leaves you feeling nourished and rejuvenated while putting you in charge of your health.

What’s My Dosha and What Does It Mean?

This is the first in a series of Take Control of Your Health workshops designed to give you a roadmap to change your diet and lifestyle habits for better health.  It is based on Ayurveda, translated as “knowledge of life”, a medical science dating back more than 5,000 years.  Ayurveda’s purpose is to heal and maintain the quality and longevity of life, honoring the whole person and our uniqueness.  Join us as we share the first level of this medical system, practical lifestyle changes, and discover your own path to health, well-being and happiness.  This information complements the Ayurvedic Seasonal Reset and private ayurvedic consultations. 

In this first workshop you will learn the concept of constitution (doshas), how to recognize it in yourself and the environment, and learn the signs of balance and imbalance.  Find out your current unique combination of doshas and learn to eat according to your body type for optimal health.  Discover how the time of day we eat, frequency of meals and combinations of foods matter.  You will receive a food chart corresponding to your unique dosha type.
